About Hot Potatoes

hotpotatoes.net is a hosting and results service for users of the Hot Potatoes suite of programs. These programs are authoring tools which allow teachers to create interactive exercises, in the form of web pages. Students can then complete these exercises using a web browser program. Hot Potatoes is now in its fifth version, and works independently of any hosting system. However, when used in conjunction with the hotpotatoes.net hosting system, Hot Potatoes exercises can store the results achieved by the students who complete them, and the teacher can then download these results. These are functions which Hot Potatoes alone cannot provide. hotpotatoes.net also provides upload and hosting for non-exercise materials, in conjunction with the Hot Potatoes Masher program. Using together, the system provides a simple Distance Learning Environment for teachers and students working on computer networks, and over the internet.
